THAILAND: BANGKOK IN 8 HOURS

Day 14: 8 Hours in Bangkok

Can’t believe how many epically long days we’ve had throughout our travel so far! Today was another one, and tomorrow will be as well. Today we woke up in Ao Nang, ate breakfast, taxied to the Krabi airport and flew to Bangkok. Once we landed, we grabbed the train to downtown and found our hotel (which was very swanky!). By then we were starving and craving a burger so we routed our way to the best burger joint we could find (see post above) and it did not disappoint!
We took the canal boat through the city a bit and hopped off at Old Town, where we walked by the Giant Swing, Grand Palace, and Laying Buddha. Then a quick ferry over the main river to scope out Wat Arun, an intricately beautiful temple. We watched sunset while waiting for our next ferry down the river to Asiatique, an open-air mall/market filled with fruit stands, clothing and jewelry boutiques, and restaurants. We finished off the night with some sushi close to our hotel then off to pack/bed before a 30-hour travel day back home (thanks international date line)!
